About Us
We work in a storefront with 5 Noltings longarm machines. Three are computerized—two with Statler systems, one with Intelliquilter. This has grown from our first freehand machine 20 years ago. In that time we have gone from pantograph, to freehand to computer, all the time keeping our work mostly simple edge-to-edge so we can offer affordable machine quilting. We've quilted thousands of quilts, and have developed a good sense of what will pattern and color will enhance the quilt without taking over.
Owner
We bought our first two Noltings machines in 1992. Pat did all of the work on the one machine, and we began to rent time on the second. These machines have proven themselves dependable, easy to use and easy to maintain in very heavy use. Pat still sews on her original machine.
With a volume of over 3000 quilts a year, Pat has many part time helpers. Monique checks in quilts, logging them in and scheduling. Dea executes the quilting--running machines and overseeing other operators. Dea is also the independent sales rep for our Noltings longarms and Intelliquilter systems.
Everyone here works very hard to get your job done, and done well. We have our days, like everyone, especially with the amount of work facing us—we have over 500 quilts in the shop to be done. We quilt about 10 a day, not counting our renters' quilts. On any given day, we are handling more than 50 quilts—prepping, filing, quilting, binding, packing. If we don't remember exactly which quilt is yours without looking it up, please bear with us.
All hard work aside, we love what we do. Most especially we love seeing what all of you are doing. We are quilters and find inspiration in the quilts we handle. That is also one of the reasons we have started selling kits and fabric here, also. We get the best ideas for putting fabrics and patterns together from the many quilts we are lucky enough to work on at the shop.
